WARNING!! Some of our dashes require you to drill holes into your car. Please be sure to verify what is behind the area you are drilling to prevent damage to your car, or injury to yourself. Failure to do this could result in injury or death. ALWAYS!! Wear proper safety equipment and personal protective gear when using hand and power tools. Please read the installation instructions fully before beginning your project. 1. If you have purchased our radio dash it is evident you plan to add electronics to your car. Automotive radios and speakers are designed to run on 12 volt electrical systems. Golf cars operate on a variety of voltages 36, 48, 72 volts etc. If you are not sure how to wire your new radio to your car with our dash please seek professional help to ensure a proper 12 volt hook up. (Failure to heed this advice could be very expensive.) If you plan to do the install yourself please disconnect the main power from your car while you are working. 2. Unscrew and remove the panel that holds the ignition, battery indicator, and any light switches your car may be outfitted with. (our dashes were designed with customizers in mind. We do not precut or drill holes for lights, switches, gauges, or any other item that may have been added to your car.) If you plan to add or keep existing lights, switches, or gauges you will have to cut or drill your own holes to do so. (The only exception is the hole for the ignition switch. That we have already taken care of for you.) 3. Disconnect the ignition switch and any other item that may be installed on the panel. (Notice how the back of the ignition switch stands off from the panel. We have added a metal collar in our dash to provide the same function when you install our dash.) 4. Remove the left and right cup holders if installed (if you haven’t purchased our floor mounted console with built in cup holders, now would be a good time.) 5. Remove the steering wheel from the car. 6. At this point it is best to dry fit the dash so that you can see and understand how the top edge snaps into place behind the aluminum trim on the car. To do this slide the dash down the column with the top edge of the dash pointing toward the front of the car. Once you get the top edge to the aluminum trim you will see a small channel running along the edge of the trim up both sides and along the top of the car. Start working the dash into that slot and work your way around until you hear the dash pop into place( please watch your fingers) (If the hole for the steering column does not fit over the steering column you may have to open the hole up to accept the sleeve that some custom cars are outfitted with. Also, if you have any wiring or turn signal harness on your car you will also have to make a modification to the dash for that as well.) 7. Once you have achieved and confirmed a good dry fit you are ready to proceed with the installation. 8. Find the included metal ring taped onto the back of the dash. Slide the ring onto the stock ignition and install the ignition into the dash. Be sure to install the ring with the notch lined up with the corresponding locating pin on the ignition Install the plastic ring back onto the front of the dash to hide the nut that holds the ignition into place 9. Once you have the dash sitting in its proper location and orientation you are ready to finalize its installation. Along the bottom edge of the dash you will see a series of holes. The dash can be installed using the supplied screws. For best results pre-drill a pilot hole for the screws (do not drill the pilot hole with any larger than a 3/32 drill bit) 10. Now that the dash is hard mounted you are ready to install your radio and speakers. ( if you do not already have a radio and speakers see the fine products that we carry on our site) 11. Please be sure to check and confirm that your sound system is installed properly and is hooked up to a 12 volt system before you restore the main power to your car. Failure to do this could result in ruining your new radio and speakers as well as causing electrical damage to your car or possibly bodily damage to yourself. 12. With your electrical system double checked you are ready to hook up your main power and enjoy your new radio dash. 13. Re-install your steering wheel at this time and you’re ready to roll.
